I approach my work with thoughtfulness, openness, and empathy, particularly when supporting individuals through challenging life events where sensitive decisions are required.
I believe that effective legal support extends beyond technical expertise. It involves listening carefully, understanding each client’s unique circumstances, and ensuring they feel informed, supported, and reassured throughout the process.
Emilie began her legal studies at Eastbourne Sussex Downs College, achieving a Distinction* in Law. She then entered the legal sector as a conveyancing assistant, gaining practical experience in Land and Property Law at a firm in Edgbaston, Birmingham, before returning to Sussex to continue in a similar role at a firm in Seaford prior to the pandemic.Â
During the pandemic, she continued her studies at the University of Brighton, completing a Law with Criminology degree and achieving a 2:1. While at university, Emilie was diagnosed with dyslexia, which she has worked diligently to manage by developing resilience, adaptability, and effective strategies to support both her academic and professional success.Â
In my final year, Emilie gained valuable experience working at a local firm and later contributed to the University of Brighton Legal Clinic, where she supported clients across a range of legal matters and developed a broader understanding of practical legal work.Â
Since graduating in 2023, Emilie has worked as a legal assistant in Personal Injury and Medical Negligence, and as a Paralegal in Private Client law. She has developed a strong interest in private client work and is particularly motivated to continue building her knowledge and expertise in this area, with the long-term goal of qualifying as a solicitor.Â
Emilie is delighted to be working as a Paralegal at Britton & Time Solicitors. The firm’s collaborative ethos and client-focused approach strongly align with my own professional values.Â
