Approach.
I believe it is paramount to always prioritise the client’s needs, whilst taking a practical and pragmatic approach to finding solutions that are in their best interests. There is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ because each client and their needs are different. I am driven to provide the best service for our clients and reach a positive outcome for them.
I thrive working in the fast-paced and ever-changing legal sector, as no day-to-day is the same, much like our clients. I enjoy going on a journey with our clients, supporting them from start to finish in their legal matters whilst ensuring that my cases are always handled seamlessly with transparency, and in a timely and professional manner.
For as long as I can remember, I have always supported others, and this gradually led me in the direction of the legal sector. I believe with support comes empathy and understanding, qualities essential to becoming a well-rounded and effective solicitor.
Over the years, I have worked in varied practice areas including Immigration (Private and Corporate), Family, and Private Client law. These personable areas of law lend themselves to crossover and have only enhanced my transferable skillset. At the age of 16, Yasmin completed work experience at a small firm in Nottingham specialising in Family, Criminal, Employment and Dispute Resolution. She then had the opportunity to shadow a District Judge at Nottingham Magistrates Court.
Yasmin graduated with LLB Law (Hons) at Middlesex University in 2014. During her studies, Yasmin volunteered with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau working closely with locum solicitors on matters related to employment, immigration and debt recovery.
Until 2019, Yasmin worked as a paralegal at a number of Legal- 500 law firms across London specialising in varied practice areas including Immigration, Litigation and Family law. In 2020 Yasmin completed her LPC (LLM) at the University of Law in Guildford and later qualified as a Solicitor in November 2022 receiving specialised training under a Deputy District Judge.
Yasmin was heavily involved in a contested probate matter with an extensively large asset portfolio. The client was experiencing a dispute arising from the takeover of the family’s business empire. She was instrumental in supporting the client and eventually reached an out-of-court settlement of an amount that exceeded the client’s expectations.
Subsequently, Yasmin was able to obtain additional instructions for the client’s divorce matter and then preparation of the client’s estate planning.
Yasmin supported the team in a TOLATA matter whereby the opponent removed large sums of money from several shared accounts whilst the client was incapacitated. Alongside the team, she moved quickly to get the shared accounts frozen by the Court until they could forensically analyse all shared assets, including properties and cash, to achieve a settlement with a reasonable and fair solution to the division of the shared assets.
Yasmin assisted a senior solicitor in a divorce and finance matter involving a very short marriage. This was a challenging case as the parties were acrimonious and attempts to settle the finances were initially met with strong resistance. Yasmin and the team were able to mitigate the points of contention between the parties to eventually reach a fair and reasonable settlement. She ensured that within the terms of the settlement, the financial position of the parties wouldn’t have a significant impact on the standard of living they were accustomed to.
In achieving this, the client further instructed Yasmin and the team to draft a new will to reflect the change of circumstances and prepare a trust for the benefit of the client’s children. We then received four more instructions on estate planning through referrals from this client.
Yasmin dealt with a contentious probate matter involving a client (who was in their 90s), a high-net-worth estate, and accusations of the executors of the estate misappropriating funds. The case was ongoing for more than 18 months during which time the client’s health deteriorated. We received further instructions from the client to prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney. We were able to manage the client’s expectations whilst dealing with both matters simultaneously and effectively.
