Approach.
Before coming to work at Britton and Time, my understanding of the law consisted of the employment issues I had to manage in previous jobs, my limited dabbling in wills, and the tv show Suits.
One thing that stood out to me was that the reality of legal services meant jargon, long waits on the phone and not receiving calls back or any information about what was happening with my matter.
Approaching the law from a consumer’s perspective, I truly believe in Britton and Time’s aspirations to offer high quality legal services outside of London, and to address the common issues that are faced by many legal services users today.
Trying to walk the fine line of being trusted as a centre of knowledge, as traditional solicitors are, while trying to appeal to a wider audience and break free of the stuffy, unapproachable image solicitors have sometimes had is challenging. However, I think it’s important that the legal industry modernises to enable more people to find the right representation.
Prior to coming to Britton and Time, I had never so much as picked up a legal textbook. Instead, I joined British Airways fresh out of university on their graduate general management scheme.
After 8 years in the travel industry and a stint abroad, I felt it was time to settle back down at home and that I was ready for a career change. Britton and Time felt like the right fit.
The legal industry, much like the travel industry 8 years ago, is undergoing huge changes with online functions playing an increasingly large part in the way we do business. And this is an area where I think we are perfectly poised to grow.
Daniel holds a 2:1 Joint Honours in Chinese and French from the University of Leeds. His work experience includes roles in sales and project management.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys training at the gym and enjoying foods from all over.
