Approach
When dealing with cases, naturally my priority is to get the best results for my client. The legal process can at times be complex and daunting, so keeping clients informed throughout their matter, breaking down complex matters into plain English, and considering the most cost-effective solutions are all fundamental in my approach.
Initially from Reading, I spent two years living and studying in California before moving back to the UK to attend university in 2018.
Early on in my Law degree, I found that modules heavily reliant upon case law and legislation were my favourite. I was fascinated by the creative ways in which legal professionals represented their clients and was sure that I wanted to do just the same.
Understanding the importance of education and experience, I began working at a solicitor’s firm during my second year to develop my communication and practical legal skills.
Alex achieved a 2:1 in Law from the University of Sussex in 2021. He has worked in law since the start of his second year at university, first as an office assistant and then as a paralegal within residential conveyancing. He has over two years of experience in the legal sector. He joined Britton & Time solicitors to pursue his career in contentious matters and dispute resolution.
2022
Alex started his career at Britton and Time Solicitors in April 2022. Throughout the year, he assisted with a number of different cases in a variety of legal areas.
Early in 2022, Alex advised on a multi-million pound intellectual property claim regarding the designing and manufacturing of medical equipment. He also defended a landlord against an injunction claim brought by a vexatious client.
Months later, Alex assisted a client in relation to a complex international probate matter concerning the jurisdictions of three different countries across two continents. He also aided in a severely contested family matter, helping to liaise with negotiations.
2023
So far in 2023, Alex has worked on a number of different cases. Firstly, he assisted in a high-profile gross negligence manslaughter case that was listed in the Central Criminal Court (The Old Bailey).
Involving the creation of a Schedule 1 of the Children Act application, Alex advised a client on defending an Order for Sale application made by their former partner. He also succeeded in a debt recovery claim on behalf of a company, winning both the total cost of the debt and legal costs.
