Pricing
At Britton and Time Solicitors, we provide clear and transparent pricing so you know exactly where you stand.
Litigation: Fees and Work.
How are our fees calculated?
These fees are calculated as an average based off our experience of handling litigation matters, and the hourly rates associated. Please note that we do not normally offer fixed fees on litigious matters.
Where the work involved falls outside of the guidance set out, additional fees may be incurred at the hourly rate of the solicitor working on your matter. These additional fees will always be agreed with you.
We do not provide legal aid, pro bono or ‘no win no fee’ services.
Average costs.
Due to litigation being so broad, the cost of a litigation case varies on a case-by-case basis. Some factors that influence the cost of a litigation case include:
- The type and complexity of the matter.
- How far the other side is willing to defend the claim.
To give you an idea of how much a litigation claim may cost, if a straightforward matter settles in the early stages, a litigation claim may only cost £300 to £600. However, in a complex claim that involves large sums of money and multiple hearings, a court case can cost tens of thousands of pounds to settle.
In any litigation case, we always ensure we book clients in for an untimed initial consultation. An initial consultation costs £200 plus VAT.
Hourly rates.
Our solicitors charge £305 to £550 per hour, plus VAT depending on the seniority of who is working on your matter. Our average costs represent the work involved across the period it usually takes to either settle your case out of court or proceed to a full hearing.
