Our History.
2020
Founded by Paul Britton after his time working at a boutique London litigation firm, Britton and Time Solicitors set down its roots on Palmeira Square, the historic centre of Hove, focusing predominantly on civil litigation and criminal defence and where the firm still has a strong presence today.
2021
With growing demand for legal services, the firm expanded into private client, family law and property dispute advice services. The team’s growing expertise was invited to comment on live news stories by Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast, TalkTV, Times Radio, and GB News, alongside featured appearances in publications such as Vogue and This Is Money.
The firm launched The Barrow Club, a business networking lunch bringing together business leaders from across Sussex.
2022
With demand for the firm’s services increasing in London, the firm expanded to Mayfair.
The firm welcomed two Directors, Property Litigation expert Sophie Campbell-Adams from MW Solicitors (now Taylor Rose), and Private Client expert Elisabeth Squires from the boutique London private client firm Maurice Turnor Gardner.
2023
With commitment to the local communities who enabled Britton and Time Solicitors to rise, the firm launched Community Wills Sussex, a grassroots will writing service in conjunction with 5 of Sussex’s under-recognised charities that raises awareness of will writing and assists with legacy fundraising.
The firm also acquired the rights to the Property Professionals Lunch, a networking lunch exclusively for the property sector in Sussex, spearheaded by Sophie Campbell-Adams.
2024
Our dedication to excellence garnered significant recognition, with Elisabeth receiving the ‘Rising Star’ award at STEP for outstanding private client services. Community Wills Sussex achieved notable recognition with shortlist positions for ‘Best Legal Partner’ and ‘Best Start-up Legacy Programme’ at the Smee and Ford Legacy Awards. Adding to these achievements, Lissie and Sophie were ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Professional Services’ and ‘Future Talent’ categories at the Dynamic Awards.
