Behind the scenes, organisation is everything in my role. As a working mother of two, I have perfected my skills in this area! On the other side, I have a positive attitude and a smile on my face so that I can welcome guests and create a friendly atmosphere.
Communication and creating a good rapport are key for me, whether that is with venues, suppliers, colleagues or guests. I aim to be approachable, collaborative, and agile – you never know what might crop up last minute.
Katie has a background in admin-based roles, including in a marketing team where she assisted them with their day-to-day organisation. This is where she started getting involved in events and realised that she absolutely loved it.
Katie enjoys both networking at other people’s events, as well as running them herself. Chatting with other industry professionals and discussing the latest trends, along with building personal connections, are some of her favourite elements of running events.
Hosting events gives Katie the confidence to initiate conversations with people she has never met before and hone her organisational skills to what they are today. She loves scouting out new venues, entertainment, and the perks of filling up on canapes or other culinary delights!
Katie has 19 years of customer service experience, working in sales, customer support, and as a receptionist. She has also been a Personal Assistant to the directors of an accountancy firm, developing her skills in calendar management, social media and itinerary building.
Combining all the knowledge from her previous roles, Katie started as a Marketing Assistant for a fire safety company, where she ran the social media accounts and assisted with event management and exhibitions. She has worked on various projects, including the organisation of a small expo stand and coordinating a high-end professional networking event at a London Museum.
At Britton and Time, Katie is the Events and Social Media Executive. You will be able to meet Katie at the Property Professionals Lunch and The Barrow Club, plus many other networking events around Sussex.
